“The Color of Our Sky” by Amita Trasi

“Moving from a traditional Indian village to the bustling modern metropolis of Mumbai, to Los Angeles and back again, this is a heartbreaking and beautiful portrait of an unlikely friendship—a story of love, betrayal, and, ultimately, redemption.”

The past few books I have read..have been real tear jerkers/down right ugly sobbing type novels. So fair warning, this one touches on extremely painful/difficult topics. In “The Color of Our Sky”, Amita Trasi has a beautiful/amazing/all encompassing way with the words she weaves throughout its entirety. Even just a few pages in, I found myself heavily invested in the characters. One chapter you will find yourself in Mumbai and the next you will be in Los Angeles but it all ties together in an extremely meaningful way! Although the story isn’t based on a true one.. you can’t help but wonder if something similar has happened and your desire to make sure that nothing even remotely close to it happens again grows page by page!
