“Every bit as moving as To Kill a Mockingbird, and in some ways more so… a stirring testament to the salvation that fighting for the vulnerable to the salvation that fighting for the vulnerable sometimes yields.”
–The New York Review of Books
Just Mercy is a book that everyone should be required to read. It is shocking, eye-opening, and heartbreaking. Bryan Stevenson is a modern day hero and does not get nearly enough credit and praise for the incredible work he does. If you have ever been interested in the criminal justice system/death penalty, this book will tell you everything you need to know. I can’t believe such perversions of justice have happened and are continuing to happen even as I type this. The knowledge and social justice this book provides is outstanding. PLEASE read it!
*Prior to reading Just Mercy, I had not heard of/watched the movie. But now I am inclined to watch it!
